The Jordan Mechano Fund exists thanks to an outpouring of generosity and sadness after the loss of Jordan Mechano, a beloved child, brother, friend, colleague.
Included in the outreach was an offer to collaborate with Generator - a Toronto-based mentoring, teaching and innovation incubator - to award funds on a lottery-basis to independent artists participating in a program that teaches the fundamentals of financial management for creatives.
Since 2021, the JMF and Generator have supported a lottery-style bursary for each iteration of their Financial Literacy program.
In 2024, we received a generous donation that has not only solidified the Financial Literacy Bursary but created an opportunity to think of what else our friend Jordan would encourage us to pursue.
